Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to City to Country Retreat Sauna.
By booking, entering, or using the sauna facilities, guests confirm they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions, Sauna Safety Rules, and Liability Waiver.
Use of the sauna and outdoor cold water shower is entirely voluntary and at your own risk.
Booking & Use
Sauna access is exclusive to guests staying at Toppesfield Hall (16yrs+).
Private Sessions Only: must be pre-booked.
Maximum capacity: 6 persons at any one time.
Never use the sauna alone — a companion must always be present to assist or summon help if needed.
City to Country Retreat Ltd reserves the right to refuse access or end a session if guests do not follow safety rules or behave in a way that could endanger themselves or others.
Age Restrictions
Sauna use is permitted for guests aged 16 years and over only.
Children under 16 are not permitted.
Health & Medical Conditions
Sauna use may not be suitable for everyone. Do not use the sauna if you:
Are pregnant
Have heart or cardiovascular conditions
Have high or low blood pressure
Suffer from dizziness, fainting, or heat sensitivity
Are under the influence of alcohol or drugs
Have any medical condition that may be affected by heat exposure
Guests with any health concerns should consult their GP before using the sauna.
If at any time you feel dizzy, faint, nauseous, or unwell, leave the sauna immediately.
Sauna Safety Rules
Recommended session length: 5–15 minutes; rest and cool down between sessions
Drink water before and after sauna use
Swimwear must be worn
Sit on a towel while using the sauna
Move slowly when entering/exiting
Do not touch the heater or stones
Pour water onto stones only using the ladle provided
Do not place towels, clothing, or objects on the heater
Keep doorways and access points clear
Be considerate and check with others before adding water to stones
Hygiene
Guests are asked to wipe benches and surfaces with the provided spray and cloth after use
Leave the sauna ready for the next guests
Personal belongings may be stored in the entry room, during your session, at your own risk
Cold Water Drench Shower
An outdoor cold water shower is available for cooling down after sauna use
Cool down gradually and take care when moving between sauna and shower
Use of the cold water shower is at your own risk
The ground around the shower and sauna may become wet/slippery — take care entering and exiting
Emergency & Fire
In case of emergency, leave the sauna immediately
Proceed to the fire meeting point by the tennis court
Follow instructions on the sign at the meeting point
Keep exit and pathways clear at all times
Damage to Property
Guests agree to pay for any damage caused to the sauna, equipment, or surrounding facilities through misuse, negligence, or failure to follow the rules
Liability & Assumption of Risk
Use of the sauna involves inherent risks, including:
• Heat exposure
• Dehydration
• Dizziness or fainting
• Burns from hot surfaces
• Slips or falls
• Cold water exposure
By using the sauna, guests accept these risks and acknowledge use is entirely at their own risk.
City to Country Retreat Ltd, its owners, staff, and representatives are not responsible for injury, illness, loss, or damage, except where required by law.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Right to Refuse Use
Sauna use may be refused or terminated if guests:
• Appear intoxicated
• Behave in an unsafe or disruptive manner
• Fail to follow sauna safety rules
No refunds will be provided in these circumstances.
Changes to Sauna Access
City to Country Retreat reserves the right to temporarily close the sauna for maintenance, safety, or operational reasons
Cancellation & Rescheduling
Cancel with more than 72 hours before session for a full refund or free reschedule
Cancel within 72 hours of session — non-refundable unless the slot can be filled

Force Majeure
If City to Country Retreat Ltd cannot honour your booking due to circumstances beyond control (e.g., power failure, severe weather, maintenance), you will be offered:
• A full refund, or
• A rescheduled session at no extra cost
Group Bookings
If booking on behalf of others, you are responsible for making all participants aware of and agreeing to these T&Cs and safety rules
Acknowledgement of Risk
By using the sauna, you accept full responsibility for your health, safety, and well-being
Guests assume all risks of sauna use, including dehydration, overheating, fainting, burns, and slips
City to Country Retreat Ltd accepts no liability for injury, loss, or damage resulting from sauna use
Key Coded Door
Keycodes automatically expire at the end of booked session times.
Please ensure you remove all person belongings BEFORE you shut the external door at the end of your session.

• They have read and understood these Terms & Conditions
• They agree to comply with all sauna safety rules and etiquette
• They accept full responsibility for themselves and any guests they bring
